About HeadlineCrunch

See the story. Compare the coverage.

HeadlineCrunch is a news-intelligence platform that identifies developing stories, groups coverage of the same event from different outlets, and shows readers how each outlet is covering, framing, emphasizing, or omitting aspects of the story. It does not republish full articles — it links to original publishers and displays headlines, short lawful excerpts, and AI-generated summaries.

HeadlineCrunch is built and maintained by an independent editorial-intelligence team focused on transparent, source-linked coverage comparison. It is for readers who want to understand not just what happened, but how differently the story is being told across outlets — journalists, researchers, newsrooms, educators, and anyone who wants to see beyond a single headline. Ownership, funding, and editorial standards are disclosed on this page and in the admin dashboard, and no sponsor may influence editorial analysis.

Editorial Standards

HeadlineCrunch uses neutral, precise language. Allegations are attributed to those making them; predictions are never presented as facts; news reporting is distinguished from opinion. The platform never invents facts, sources, quotations, or statistics, and avoids inferring motive without evidence.

How Story Clustering Works

Articles from configurable RSS feeds, licensed APIs, and public sources are grouped into clusters when they concern the same underlying event. The system separates materially different developments, avoids merging stories that merely share a name, detects wire-service duplicates, and recognizes updates and corrections. Each cluster has a persistent URL and a history of updates. Administrators can merge, divide, rename, or archive clusters.

How AI Is Used

AI generates neutral overviews and structured coverage comparisons from the linked source articles only. It prefers original reporting, official records, court documents, transcripts, datasets, and direct statements, and gives greater weight to them. Several articles from the same wire report are not treated as independent confirmation. Summaries regenerate when major new information arrives, and earlier versions are preserved in an internal audit history. Every substantive assertion links to its source.

Source Selection

Sources are configurable and approved by editors. The platform respects robots.txt and publisher access restrictions, never bypasses paywalls or technical access controls, and stores only the data needed for search, comparison, attribution, and lawful excerpts. Affiliate, sponsored, partner, and press-release content is clearly labeled.

Corrections Policy

Every story page has a "Report an Error" button. When a material correction is made, HeadlineCrunch displays what was corrected, when, why, and whether it affected the AI comparison. Outlets may submit corrections to their profiles and any third-party ratings.

Ownership and Funding

HeadlineCrunch is an independent editorial-intelligence platform. It does not allow sponsors to influence editorial analysis. Ownership and funding details are maintained in the admin dashboard and disclosed here.

Privacy Policy

HeadlineCrunch collects only what is needed to provide personalized feeds, alerts, and newsletters. Users can follow topics, people, and locations; save stories; and set notification frequency. Personalization never creates an ideological filter bubble — additional perspectives and sources remain clearly available.

Terms of Use

Use of HeadlineCrunch is subject to these terms. The platform provides links to original publishers and does not claim ownership of their content. Summaries are AI-generated and may contain errors.

Contact the Editorial Team
